INDIANA SILENT ASSASSINS
Coach Hannah Velasquez (Coach Hanz)
Assistant Coach
Coach Hannah Velasquez brings passion, leadership, and a deep commitment to building both athletes and community in her role as Assistant Coach. With 4 years of coaching experience across 6
seasons, along with 8 years as a youth player and additional time competing in adult co-ed slow pitch, she understands the game from multiple perspectives.
Beyond the field, Coach Hanz also served as a board member for a softball organization for 4 years, helping grow the program by over 60 athletes while taking on key responsibilities to strengthen the organization. Her leadership and dedication have consistently made a lasting impact both on and off the field.
Her impact and involvement in youth development has even been recognized publicly, including a feature in GreatNews.Life, where the organization’s mission was highlighted:
“We teach the kids that when you invest in something, you can see growth,” said Sprinkle. “We want to help turn these young ladies into young women and help fulfill their dedication along with giving them a sense of pride and ownership in their career paths, families, and communities. Our organization wants to organize a youth program of softball that creates a sisterhood and everlasting
friendships.”
This message reflects exactly what Coach Hanz stands for.
What drives her is something bigger than the game itself. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive environment where athletes feel they belong—a place where a true sisterhood is built. She believes the field should be more than just a place to play—it should feel like a second home, where athletes are surrounded by coaches they trust and values that shape who they become.
Her mission is to help develop not only strong players, but strong individuals—instilling:
-
Work ethic and accountability
-
Teamwork and connection
-
Confidence and character
Coach Hanz coaching style is built on balance. She pushes her athletes to reach their full potential, holding them to a high standard and challenging them to see what they’re truly capable of. At the same time, she leads with care, empathy, and authenticity—making sure every player knows they are supported.
Her athletes know two things:
-
She will challenge them.
-
And she will always be there for them.
Her coaching philosophy centers on:
-
Building a strong, positive team culture rooted in trust
-
Creating a safe environment where athletes feel valued and supported
-
Pushing players to grow while leading with both toughness and compassion
-
Developing not just skills, but confidence and character
Coach Hanz is committed to helping every athlete she works with grow into a confident player and an even stronger person—while building bonds that last far beyond the game.
